What sports and leagues do your selections come from?

We are a specialized service. All our selections come from major European football leagues. The vast majority of our selections come from the English Premiership, Spanish Primera Division, German Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League. However, we do also advise selections from the UEFA Cup, English Championship and major International competitions such as the World Cup or European Championships. What you won't see at Sports Investor is selections from lower leagues, darts, snooker or some other event marked by low limits and an inability to really profit from the analysis provided.Top

What type of selections do you advise?

The vast majority of our selections come from the Asian Handicap and Over/Under markets due to theoretical advantages of wagering in these markets. However, if we feel we have detected value in any other market, we will advise selections from these markets as well. Top

Do I need to understand Asian Handicap betting in order to profit from your selections?

Can I follow your selections exclusively on Betfair?

While it is possible to benefit from our selections at only one bookmaker or exchange, to get the most juice out of the service, it is absolutely essential that you create a portolio of reliable bookmakers. While catching .05 less may not seem like a massive difference to some, in the long-run this makes a very big difference to your returns. It is therefore essential that you catch the best possible odds at the time that you place your wager. Top

What method of staking do you use?

We use a variant of Kelly Staking. This means that the advised stake is positively correlated with our estimation of 'value' and the stakes are likely to be higher on high probability outcomes than on less likely outcomes. However, the extent to which stakes vary isn't as large as under conventional Kelly Staking. The vast majority of our selections will be 1, 2 or 3 points. Top

What is your recommended staking plan?

It would be impossible for us to suggest a "one size fits all" staking plan. Individual risk/return preferences are an important ingredient in determining stakes. However, we strongly urge customer to keep their exposure to risk relatively low. Within the overall setup of the service, we encourage a long-term perspective. We consider a 100 unit bank to be risk-neutral, but the aim should be to build your bank to a level where you can look at a 150 unit or 200 unit bank. Every selection in any sport carries an element of risk and it's important that you maintain discipline in your stakes. Do not increase stakes disproportionately during a good run. Top

Can I pay using my credit card?

Absolutely. We use Merchant services that allow us to accept a wide variety of credit card payments. While we prefer accepting transactions directly from a Moneybookers account, we also accept a wide variety of credit and debit card including Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners, American Express, JCB and Solo. When are your selections published and how are members notified?

Selections for 1245 GMT games are usually sent outby 1000GMT, selections for 1500GMT games are sent out between 1000 and 1100 GMT and selections for 1930GMT kick offs are usually sent out by 1400 GMT. Subscribers are notified by e-mail and/or SMS based on their settings. Subscribers may alter their level of notifications from the "My Settings" tab in the Member Control Panel. Top

How are SMS notifications sent out?

We limit the number of subscribers we take on to keep the service extremely practical. It is not advisable to go rushing in the minute you receive a notification as the full impact of our members placing their wagers is likely to be felt at this point. You will often find better prices available later in the day and you will almost always find the opportunity to get involved at a better price in-play. Top

Why don’t you offer performance guarantees?

Every guarantee carries with it a poor incentive structure. Our job isn't to deliver x units of profit, it is to analyse each individual fixture with the individual attention it deserves and to arrive at our staking decisions based on value and value alone. Guarantees alter staking decisions and are extremely unprodutive. Moreover, we already have a built-in incentive to try and maximize the profitability of our analysis: greater profitability leads to greater demand and that is ultimately a reasonable barometer of progress. Can I share selections with friends, family or over the internet?

Immediately report the matter to support@sports-investor.net. Any attempt to illegally purchase or sell selections is illegal and undermines the service offered to honest members. Unauthorized use of selections ultimately leads to odds movements, which make the service impractical to follow. Top

Why don't you accept clients from the United States?

With the recent Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and the existing Wire Wager Act, we feel providing our services to American customers involves an unnescesary legal risk to our owners. Inspite of not having any links with the United States in the structure of our service, the overarching nature of US legislation means that we are unable to accept US subscribers at this time.Top

While we aren't directly effected by the UIGEA as we are not a gambling service and are merely a Sports Information and Entertainment service, the contents of our subscription based service may be seen to be under the perview of the Wire Wager Act. While we strongly disagree with legislation that limits the personal freedom of its citizens and the free flow of information, we must respect the laws of every country. Why isn't my country listed on the registration form?

When we are aware of any specific legislation that interferes with the operations of Sports Investor in a specific country or we feel the information provided may lead to illegal action, we stop accepting clients from the country.
